It takes true artistry to create a custom piece of jewelry. With over two decades of experience in the gem and jewelry business, our small team of skilled artisans combines old world techniques with state-of-the-art technology to help you create your vision. Whether it’s a custom engagement ring or an heirloom redesign, our imagination, skill, and experience come together to create beautiful jewelry made to last a lifetime.
1. Initial Consultation
No charge | The process begins with a free, half-hour, initial consultation. This can be done virtually, or in person in Boulder, Colorado. Based on your vision, timeline, and budget, we’ll decide together if your project is a good fit.
2. Sketch & Proposal
Cost: $300 | After our consultation, we’ll have an in-depth meeting, in person or virtually. We’ll discuss all relevant details such as design, gemstones and materials, as well as your desired delivery date. Afterwards, a sketch or CAD rendering of the finished piece will be submitted, along with a detailed proposal for the job. If we move ahead with the project, the $300 fee will be put toward your down payment.
3. Construction
50% down payment due | Once the proposal is accepted, we’ll get to work creating your custom designed piece of jewelry.
4. Final Approval
Final payment due | When your piece is finished and approved, we’ll ensure the fit is perfect and make any final adjustments. You’ll cherish your one-of-a-kind Elyria original for years to come!
A Note on Ethical Diamonds & Qualifications
In 2004 I received my certification from the Gemological Institute of America in both diamond and pearl grading. The ethical sourcing of diamonds, gemstones, and precious metals is very important to me, and I believe in a policy of transparency and dialogue with my customers. All the diamonds I buy and sell are certified by the Kimberley Process, and I also offer alternatives such as lab-created diamonds.
